About Mrs. Nowak:
I grew up in Wessington Springs with my parents (Kim & Julie) and my sister (Angie). I attended college at Dakota Wesleyan University where I obtained my degree in Elementary Education and also played basketball. This year will be my 13th year of teaching! I taught 2 years of preschool along with 3-4th grade computers, K-8 PE in Wessington Springs. Then I taught 6 years in the Tea School District teaching 1st grade and then second grade. This is my fifth year in Harrisburg and am looking forward to a great year. I have also received my Masters Degree in Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach from the University of South Dakota.
I'm married to Scott, who is an American Family Insurance Agent in Sioux Falls and we have two little ones who keep us busy and on our toes. I also have five nieces that I adore and enjoy having them in the summer for a week to spoil :) In my free time I like being outside, going for walks, camping, fishing, reading books, and being with my family. I can't wait for the school year to begin and enjoy teaching kids and seeing them grow throughout the year.
